ENGINE 1

Hollis E-1 @ Station
1
Hollis Engine 1 is a 2001 HME Ferrera custom fire truck. This
truck was built to Hollis Fire Department’s specifications as
are all of our trucks. Engine 1 is considered a pumper, meaning
that it is capable of pumping 1,250 gallons of water per minute
and carries 1,000 gallons of water on board. Engine 1 also
carries Class A foam which helps ensure fires are extinguished
during building fires. This truck is capable of carrying 4
firefighters and can do a multitude of tasks including fire
suppression, providing tools for search and rescue, ladders, and
EMS response. Engine 1 also carries a portable extrication unit
to be used on motor vehicle crashes when occupants are
entrapped. Engine 1 is a “front-line” piece of apparatus,
meaning that it is capable of arriving first at the scene of a
fire and can handle numerous emergency calls.
